PARODA: The peaceful neighborhood of Modevado, Paroda, has been shaken by a terrifying murder. Ubaldina Braganza, 57, was discovered dead in her home.
According to sources, the victim had been stabbed in the head and then strangled with a scarf after a post-mortem examination verified homicide.
A worker at Ubaldina’s property is the subject of a thorough inquiry that Quepem police have started.
The money she was allegedly carrying, which was supposed to be paid to the construction workers she was supervising, is thought to be the cause, according to locals.
Neighbors said that Ubaldina was by herself overseeing the building of her new residence in Paroda. Her remote location, at the end of a row of eleven houses, might have made her a target.
According to preliminary police investigations, she suffered a serious head injury when the attacker attacked her from behind while they were waiting. The assailant then allegedly locked the front door, strangled her with a dupatta, and ran away with a gold chain and stolen money.
Bloodstains were found at the site, and there is evidence that the suspect threw the dupatta in the neighboring farmland after escaping through the back door.
While residing at her daughter’s home in Aquem-Margao, Ubaldina made the daily trip to Paroda to oversee construction projects. She was handling the project by herself because her husband and son were employed overseas.
