PANAJI: Sports Minister Govind Gaude today informed the House that 80% of funds to the association have already been sanctioned and the remaining 20% will be done post-utilisation certificate.
“Rease of funds to the association, 80% has been already sanctioned and the first time we have released 80% to any association in one time and 20% will be released after Utilization Certificates are submitted,” said Gaude.
Speaking on National Games Goa, Gaude said that 3380 Volunteers were engaged during the Games time.
These Volunteers were categorised as General Volunteers and Sports Specific Volunteers and were placed in different functional areas.
“Further this office had undertaken the scrutiny and during the verification, certain discrepancies were noticed such as mismatch of volunteers bank account mandate,” he added.
“Relative’s bank account submitted, Nand bank details unavailable/no bank account of the volunteer, Gaude said.
The minister also said that the processing of payment of honorarium to some of the Volunteers was kept on hold for want of further clarity in their bank account mandate.
