PORVORIM: The state cabinet today granted one year extension to the scheme for recruitment of children of freedom fighters in government service.
“Cabinet has granted one year extension to the scheme for recruitment of children of freedom fighters in government service. This will be the last extension granted for the scheme,’ said CM Sawant
He further said that only 90 children of freedom fighters are left to be recruited.
“Government had offered them work in Human Resource Department for time being and we had also informed that they would be given jobs later as and when vacancies were created, but, no one accepted this offer,’ he added
“All 90 children of freedom fighters will be recruited before the extension is over,” he added
Speaking further, Sawant said that the state government has organised Prashasan Tumchya Dari programme on March 17 and 18 to listen to public grievances.
“One minister each will be available at the office of the deputy collectors from 10 am to 1 pm on that day,” he added
Sawant said that under this for two days ministers will listen grievances from people as CM Pramod Sawant will complete four years as Chief Minister and nine years Modi as Prime Minister of India.
The state cabinet also granted approval to amend Goa telecom infrastructure policy to role out 5G network in the state.
The Goa Government telecommunications infrastructure policy aims to increase efficiency in the telecommunication sector.
“The policy will aim to fulfill people’s expectations of fast and reliable internet connection anywhere and anytime as the demand for internet connectivity, through mobile or broadband connectivity has exploded,” Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
CM Pramod Sawant also informed that Goa will host eight G20 summit meetings on topics like tourism, health, education, and sustainability.
Sawant said that the first of these events will be held in April, and that the focus would be on the exchange of knowledge and tourism.
“”It is important for Goa, being a small state because the state is hosting eight meetings on subjects like tourism. health, education and sustainability, among others. Most of these meetings will be held at a starred hotel at Bambolim.” said Sawant,
The chief minister said that the state government has started preparations for the G20 summit meeting.
