CANACONA: Education is pivotal and a civilized society is formed only through education. Education is the hallmark of new generation too’, stated Union Minister Shripad Naik.
Speaking further Naik lauded the services of Centro Promotor De Instrusav, (CPI) Canacona stating, ‘In the last hundred years, the best work of creating a well-educated generation has been done by the Centru Promotor de Instrusav and that is why the institution deserves congratulations’
He was speaking as the chief guest on the second day of the Centenary Year Concluding Ceremony of Centro Promotor de Instrusaw at Char Rasta, Canacona. Canacona Municipal Council Chairperson Ramakant Naik Gaonkar, Senior Journalist Raju Naik, Director of Archeology Nilesh Phaldesai, CPI President Shamba Naik Desai, CPI General Body) Chairman Rajendra Desai, Secretary Suraj Bhaireli, Secretary Pundalik Naik Gaonkar, Treasurer Ramesh Komarpant, President of Parents Teacher Association Suchendra were on the dais.
‘it was a difficult task to run or even form an Educational Institution during the Portuguese regime. However, it’s the handiwork of revolutionary Cankonkars who took the challenge and laid the foundation for upliftment of the society in Canacona’, Naik said.
A senior journalist Raju Nayak said that the ability to make any impossible work to possibility is with Canaconcar. ‘Teachers not only make students, teachers work to make villages, talukas, Towns, Cities, States and a build countries. Canacona’s CPI is qualitatively better than Goa’s many city schools. While giving the students school education, look beyond and provide them the knowledge other than what you teach them in classrooms and textbooks.’ Nayak also raised an query stating whether we will have Goans in Goa in the next 20 years.
‘Parents should not impose their will on their wardens. Let them pursue their education in the field they like and make their career’, stated CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaonkar. ‘ CPI’s decision to install a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaraya at the entrance of the school complex is a matter of pride for all Canacona residents as Shivaji Maharaj is seen as symbol of truth and righteousness.
Naikgaonkar further informed that seeing the problem of CPI run Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya CMC has already given a bus to the school at a cost of 20 lakh rupees and assured further support to the school.
Director of Archeology Nilesh Phaldesai said that the Education is the tool of Development and IT. He informed about the revolution in health, agriculture, Industry due to education itself.
Anil Phaldesai, Satish Desai, Ram Desai, Vihar Desai, Vinod Sawant, Varsha Naik Gaonkar, Varsha Naik, Pramod Rane, Gauresh Desai, Premanand Naik Gaonkar, Avind Naik Gaonkar and others were also present.
On this occasion, dignitaries from various fields were felicitated and meritorious students were awarded prizes.-
