Panaji: The Goa Cricket Association has announced its 16 member squad for the upcoming Ranji Trophy campaign, appointing Abhinav Tejrana as captain as the team prepares to represent the state in India’s premier domestic first class cricket tournament.
Tejrana will lead a squad featuring a mix of established players and emerging talent. The team includes Suyash Prabhudesai, Manthan Khutkar, Lalit Yadav, Snehal Kauthankar, Shivendra Bhujbal, Koushik V, Shubham Tari, Ruthvik Naik, Darshan Misal, Yash Kasvankar, Amulya Pandrekar, Deepraj Gaonkar, Rajshekhar Harikant, Mohit Redkar and Felex Alemao.
The squad will be guided by former India cricketer Dinesh Mongia, who has been appointed head coach. Krishna Rao will serve as bowling coach, while Prakash Mayenkar will oversee senior men’s coaching and cricket operations. Anil Joglekar has been named team manager.
The coaching and support staff will work with the players as Goa prepare for the demanding Ranji Trophy season, which tests teams across multiple matches through batting consistency, bowling discipline and overall performance.
The announcement marks an important step in Goa’s preparations for the tournament, with the team aiming to deliver competitive performances against some of the country’s leading domestic sides. The players will look to make effective use of their preparation and establish strong combinations ahead of the campaign.
Goa Cricket Association President Mahesh Desai, Secretary Tulshidas Shetye and the managing committee extended their best wishes to the squad. They expressed their support for the players and team management as Goa gear up for the upcoming domestic season.
With Tejrana entrusted with the captaincy and Mongia leading the coaching setup, Goa will look to build a cohesive unit capable of competing strongly in the Ranji Trophy and representing the state with distinction on the national cricket stage.
