CANACONA- Stating, the village has gained in various developmental works under her tenure, Ex-Agonda Sarpanch Fatima Rodrigues informed the village coffers had become ritcher by over 900 percent during her 9 months period.
Addressing media Rodrigues informed she had raised several stepts to building up village infrastrue and evelopmental works,’When I took the charge, the revenue of Agonda panchayat was just about three lakhs of ruppes,and in the next nine months tapping the income on various front, the panchcyat revenue was grown-up to 30 lakhs.
Improvement of internet facility, wherever roads were not there roads were made, water was reached to non-avabilable places, 3 transformers were installed improving the low-voltages problems, a new mobile tower was installed, improving network facility especially to the areas engaged tourism activities’.
Rodrigues also spelled out support of Canaocna MLA and speaker Ramesh Tawadkar in getting all these things done.
Besides, after taking the charge of sarpanch, I had replaced the old panchcyat furnitute with new furniture, the open space outside the panchcyat building was suitably cordoned-off, the ever-threatening Grabage issue was resolved with some inept decisions, including engagement of 6 more labours for the job to collection wet and dry waste generated in the village particularly on the coastal trousim stakeholders, the dangerous potholes road o nthe roads, especially most village and main road were attended, At Mudcheli, where the Gutters were not attended for the last several years were cleaned, NOC’s were obtained from the residents of Mudkud for construction of a Bhandara to facilitate proper water storage in the river, Four families from the village were taken up to build the mhouses under Shram-Dham scheme of Speaker Tawadkar.
BMC Agonda Chairman Shaba Naikgaonkar also informed that to protect the environment of the village and particularly beachy coas, decision is taken to plant more trees on the Coast.
Rodrigues also informed there was grave water scarcity situation at Val-Agonda, which is now solved and resolved giving proper water-supply to the residents there.
Another villager Mariyani Fernandes said, ‘ we had road problem for the last 30 years, which is solved and a new road is being constructed for us at Karashir-moll commencing during Rodrigues tenure’.
Dhavalkhazxan Panch Nilesh Paguim Agonda Bio-diversity Management Committee Chairman and Ex- Agonda sarpanch Shaba Naikgaonkar were also present.
