CANACONA: A complaint is lodged with Agonda panchayat by a councillor from Canacona municipality for illegally blocking the traditional path to the Southern-end of the 2.9 kms long Agonda beach coast.
Canacona Municipality Councilor Shubham Komarpant heeding to the complaints of some locals inspected the place and lodged a complaint with Agonda Panchayat Secretary, stating Seema Hotel and AlChemist company had arbitrarily blocked the natural and traditional beach access at Val-side of the 2.9 long Agonda beach coast by erecting a gate and concrete poles, thus attempting to deny free and fair access to vehicles and others.
CMC Councillor Shubham Komarpant visited Agonda beach to inspect illegal closure of traditional pathway to the Val, Agonda beach and in his complaint named Seema Hotel and Alchemist Agency (Virendra Singh) as having blocked pathway to beach by installing concrete poles and Iron gate in CRZ area without any prior permission of Panchayat, CRZ and further stated this is against supreme court guidelines which clearly states that no one is authorised to close any traditional pathway or public access to beach and rivers.without any permission.
Komarpant informed he had submitted the memorandum to panchayat secretary to take swift action and open the road access to general public.
