COLVALE: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Friday said that almost 1400 posts will be recruited in the Goa police department soon.
The Chief Minister made the statement while inaugurating the Colvale police station, at WRD quarters, on the occasion of Goa Revolutionary day. Thivim MLA Nilkanth Halarnkar, Goa DGP Mukesh Kumar Meena, Goa Police DIG Paramaditya, IPS, North Goa SP Shobit Saxena, North Goa Collector Ajit Roy IAS were present for the function.
Sawant said since last one year the Goa police department has been doing their job very gracefully, be it in the field of infrastructural development, human development, and even the human resources.
He said to decrease the pressure on police force more recruitments will be carried out.
“The department has advertised 940 posts besides 150 PSI posts and approximately 250 police posts will be advertised shortly and the vacancies will be filled soon. Even the Home Guards would be recruited soon”, said CM Pramod Sawant in his speech.
He said the police force has the biggest role in minimising the crime rates, and the department is doing its best to lower the crime rate.
Sawant also ordered police to take actions against the smallest of the smallest crime, and give no chance to the people to blame the department.
“No matter what people say, he will always work for the betterment of the state and not let the state suffer,” he said.
Appreciating the police staff for doing their best during COVID19 pandemic, he said police played major role in lowering the cases.
Speaking on the Goa Revolution Day, he said, the state is ranked third in Sustainable Development Goal of the country.
“The Revolution that was started by Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia on 18th June 1946 that gave Goa Liberation, now it is the time for Us to start the revolution to make Goa Swayampurna, and I ask Goans to support this development of making Goa Swayampurna”, said Dr. Pramod Sawant on the occasion.
