Panaji: Arjun Rane, Yajat Keny, Ashank Dalvi and Aarish Shaikh secured their places in the finals of the Boys U9 and U11 categories at the Priority Gaspar Dias Open All Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament at Clube Tennis de Gaspar Dias, Miramar.
The tournament is being conducted in association with the Goa Table Tennis Association.
In the Boys U9 semifinals, top seed Arjun Rane survived a close contest against Ronan Menezes Gama, winning 3-2 to keep his title hopes alive. Second seed Yajat Keny produced a more comfortable performance, defeating Vivaan Rane 3-0 to earn his place in the final.
Arjun had earlier advanced to the semifinals with a 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Anshuman Lokapure. Ronan secured a 3-0 win against Jagrav Sinha, while Vivaan defeated Kavish Singh 3-1. Yajat completed the quarterfinal lineup with a 3-1 victory over Urvansh Pathak.
The Boys U11 category also witnessed dominant semifinal performances from the top two seeds. Ashank Dalvi defeated Kedar Nair 3-0, while second seed Aarish Shaikh recorded an identical 3-0 victory over Vardhan Verlekar. The results set up an eagerly awaited final between Ashank and Aarish.
Earlier in the U11 quarterfinals, Ashank defeated Ronan Menezes Gama 3-0, while Kedar Nair beat Ved Sanvordekar by the same scoreline. Vardhan Verlekar overcame Arjun Rane 3-1, while Aarish Shaikh secured a 3-0 victory over Urvansh Pathak.
The four finalists will now battle for the respective age group titles as the Priority Gaspar Dias Open reaches its decisive stage.
