PONDA: It’s two months now the underground power cables laid in jurisdiction of four Panchayats alongside roads but roads are not restored and thus become uneven and non motorable.
Umesh Naik said roads in The VPs of Kavlem , Bandora, Wadi Talavalim and Durbhat Adpoi Agapur was dug for laying cables ,however roads are just covered with mud and roads are not restored locals faces hardship and also complains of heavy dust pollution. Locals fear If roads are not restored it would pose big risk in monsoon as it turn slippery.
Therefore locals demand to restore road dug for laying power cable. Though power cables are laid underground and covered again with soil it has given uneven surface and dangerous for driving.
Now that power cables are laid locals said government should also take simultaneously road restoration work. The trenches are dug by removing tar on road.
The covered portion with mud is causing dust pollution for locals as also it is difficult for pedestrians, school children’s risky to also walk on uneven shoulder of road as mud is spread to coverup trenches.
The locals urged the contractor to first level the dug portion of the roads where laying of under- ground power cabling was done and restore them with tar.
