PANAJI: Ishita Colaso, Ruhaan Shaikh, Yug Prabhu, Sachi Dessai, Ashank Dalvi and Shaurya Dessai emerged as champions in their respective categories at the 6th Naguesh and Sushila Verenkar Memorial Table Tennis Ranking Tournament held at the Chandor Club Multipurpose Hall.
Organised by Chandor Club under the aegis of the Goa Table Tennis Association, the tournament witnessed exciting contests across multiple age group categories, with young paddlers delivering impressive performances.
In the Under 15 finals, Ruhaan Shaikh defeated Vedant Wagle 3-1 to win the Boys’ title, while Ishita Colaso produced a dominant display to beat Sachi Dessai 3-0 and secure the Girls’ crown.
Yug Prabhu claimed the Boys’ Under 13 title after a convincing 3-0 victory over Mission Lalpekhlua. In the Girls’ Under 13 final, Sachi Dessai defeated Tisha Shaikh 3-1 to lift the championship.
The Boys’ Under 11 final produced one of the closest matches of the tournament as Ashank Dalvi edged past Aarish Shaikh 3-2 to continue his impressive run. In the Girls’ Under 11 category, Shaurya Dessai captured her first title of the season with a hard fought 3-2 win over Vanlalhriatpuii.
In the youngest age group, Arjun Rane won the Boys’ Under 9 title with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Urvansh Pathak, while Claire George secured the Girls’ Under 9 championship after defeating Ronisha Sakhardande by the same margin.
The tournament highlighted the depth of emerging table tennis talent in Goa, with several closely contested matches and strong performances across all age group categories.
