PANAJI: Social Activist Sanjeev Raiturkar today has alleged that authorities are more interested in change in zones Margao ODP because it fetches them money.
“Before finalizing ODP, see that there is an experienced member secretary. The member secretary is not at all capable, and if he signs it, I will be the first person to go to court,’ said Raiturkar.
He further said that authorities concentrate more on the change of zones, and everyone knows why zones are changed.
Sanjeev Raiturkar said, “To date, all spoke on ODP issues, but no practical inspections and cross-checking happened. Now, for example, the land where the Kadamba bus stand has been marked, we checked whether it is marked for the same or not.”
Similarly, the land besides Kadamba is for RTO. But is it marked for RTO on ODP is to be checked, and if not, we demand that it be included?”
“We are here for the development of the town. We had had an agitation against the proposed ODP in 2008 when Digambar and Vijai had claimed to be unequivocally against the development proposed by the then Government,” he added.
Raiturkar said that they are proposing the development, but we want it to be done the way we began the fight.
The activist also took the RTO officials on a Margao tour to show how the public transport buses are causing traffic problems in the town.
Meanwhile, Raiturkar has pressed for solutions to all the problems they have highlighted.
