CANACONA – Balram Education Society (BES) stepped into yet another milestone in providing the best of the education to the deptrived strata of the society in Canacona.
BES, Amone(Poinguinim) is set to launch Balram Residential Higher Secondary in Science at Amone in June 2024 and have invited applications from the prospective students for admissions in Class XI for the academic year 2024-25.
“We have already obtained necessary permission from the Department concerned to invite applications for the batch of 50 students in the first –ever of its kind a Residential Higher Secondary in Science in the State of Goa’, informed Savita Ramesh Tawadkar.
Mrs Tawadkar who herself is Headmistress of Balram Residential High-School, Amone, the first of its kind opened by BES with its Founder Chairman Ramesh Tawadkar in the year 2008, addressed the press and media alongwith BES Chairman Ankush Gaonkar, Secretary Janu Tawadkar, Treasurer Ganesh Gaonkar on Friday.
BES founded by Ramesh Tawadkar while working for the weaker section of the society, has first opened a Residential High School, the first residential High School of Goa Board in the year 2008, accommodating Tribal children. Thereafter, BES went to open a Higher Secondary School of Arts & Commerce (at Ordhofond-Poinguinim), Two Primary Schools, Two Pre-primary schools and a Full Day Care High School (Shristhal) in Canacona. Our students are not only giving the best of the academic results and sports performances in Canacona taluka but are also excelling in various co-curricular activities in the State of Goa. Students from all over the State have benefitted and benefitting in the residential school and studies in Canacona ‘, Ms Tawadkar informed.
‘This year we have decided to open Balram Residential Higher Secondary with Science Stream and it will be housed at Amone where the Residential High School is located. We have taken all the necessary permissions from the department and we are commencing it from this June 2024 with a batch of 50 students. We are going to extend all the benefits of the Residential High School to the students of Residential Higher Secondary. Students from Canacona and all over Goa are eligible to take admission to this higher secondary. Besides, we have spoken with Estellar Academy for imparting coaching in NEET, JEE competitive exams at Margao, and necessary transportations for the same would be made by the Society’, Ankush Gaonkar informed.
Mrs. Tawadkar further informed that initially candidates with over 70% of marks will be considered for admission, and students having 60% and above in Maths and Science will also be considered for admission. ‘We are inviting applications from students all over Goa, besides, Canacona, especially from the areas of Sanguem, Quepem, Dharbondara, Ponda particularly students living in remote villages/areas having day-to-day transportation difficulties/ limitations to apply for admission in Balram Residential Higher Secondary for Science, Amone. We have a ready infrastructure and the best of camp facilities, besides the felicitation of NEET, JEE coaching classes on Saturday, Sunday at Margao will be the added features of our first Residential Higher Secondary in Science in Goa, at Amone(Poinguinim).
