CANACONA: Shri Mallikarjun Devasthan’s Avatar Purush Devachi Tarange, Bhagat, Gade and the entire Lavajama have returned to their original place after visiting the northern Karnataka region in the month of Magh after giving their blessings and offerings to their clan and other devotees.
Beginning today (Wednesday, 5/3/2025) at 8:00 PM, the first of all three fairs of this year in the Cancona area, the incarnation of the Shri Mallikarjun Dev, will be held at the Amolkar family’s house (place of worship) in Khalwade Canacona.
On Thursday, 6/03/2025, at exactly 9:00 PM, a fair will be held in the courtyard of the Nirakaran Matha in Kindlem. On Friday, 7/03/2025, at 1.00 pm, one fair will be held at Kulgati in Babre and at 9.00 pm, two fairs will be held at Kindlem Rajangan (Courtyard).
On Saturday, 8/03/2025, two fairs will be held at Kulgati in Babre at 1.00 pm and one fair will be held at Chinchat in Patnem at 7.00 pm.
On Sunday, 9/03/2025, at 2.00 pm, one fair will be held near the Nirakar Math in Bhagatwada and two fairs will be held at Patnem Chinchant at 7.00 pm.
On Monday, 10/03/2025, at 2.00 pm, two fairs will be inaugurated near Bhagatwada Matha and at 3.00 pm, a fair will be “gifted” at Shirewada.
On Tuesday, 11/03/2025, two fairs will be offered at Shirewada at 3.00 pm and one fair will be offered at Devbagh at 8.00 pm.
A joint offering will be made to all three fairs at Devbagh on Wednesday, 12/3/2025 at 9:00 PM.
On Thursday, 13/3/2025, the combined incarnation of all three fairs will be concluded at Bokdamoll- Agonda at 11.00 am and in the evening, the processions carrying the talis of the prominent families of Agonda village will travel to Mudkud village at night. The traditional festival of Holi will be celebrated at night.
Friday the 14/03/2025, they will perform Zatra of Shri Lakhaneshwar Deva and take gifts and rest at the house of Phaldesai at Tarange Mudcheli village.
Saturday the 15/03/2025, gifts will be given to the homes of four families at Chapoli in the afternoon and evening and on Sunday, 16/3/2025, the offerings will be made at the ancestral home of the incarnation in the afternoon and at night.
On Monday, 17/3/2025, the offerings will be made at the homes of the villagers in Waizawada in the afternoon and at night in Nuem.
On Tuesday, 18/3/2025, all three processions of the incarnation will depart for their respective homes after taking a dip in the pond at Shristhal. On this day, the Suhasini, who offer daily service to the God, will observe the “daily fast”.
On Wednesday, 19/3/2025, there will be an incarnation and Kaulaprasad at all three houses in the morning. In the morning, in the premises of Shri Mallikarjuna Temple, there will be a “Divjakane Bhovari” of the Kindlekar and Nagarsekar families. At 8.30 pm, Shri Mallakarjun Raupya Shibikotsav, Gulalotsav, Suwari on Paji and later Suwari Vandan will be performed by Kholkar Bhavput Brothers.
On Thursday, 20/3/2025, the ritual of piercing the shell for the newly married man at Shristhal in the morning and the “Sheelchi Bhonwar”, Tulabhar and at 2 pm in the presence of a large crowd in the temple’s royal courtyard (Rajanagan), the occasion of the incarnation and the famous Shisha-randhani festival will be concluded and in the evening, the sixth fair will conclude with the immersion of the gadi.
Thursday the 13/03/2025, “Mhal” Velip family dinner, Saturday (15/3/2025), the “Mhali” family dinner, Sunday (16/3/2025), “Garttar Jev”.
On Monday, 17/03/2025, the religious ritual of “Village Food” will be celebrated.
