CANACONA: Congress leader Janardhan Bhandari has approached Director of Health Services Dr Medha Salkar seeking immediate intervention over what he described as serious shortcomings in healthcare services at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Canacona.
In his petition, Bhandari highlighted gaps in medical facilities, infrastructure and staffing at the health centre, raising concerns over the availability and adequacy of services for residents of Canacona.
He has called for an urgent joint inspection involving all relevant government departments to assess the existing conditions at the CHC and identify areas requiring immediate attention.
“It is high time to identify the existing deficiencies and take immediate measures to strengthen and improve healthcare facilities and infrastructure at the CHC,” Bhandari said.
Bhandari has given the authorities 15 days to initiate corrective measures and improve the situation at the health centre. He warned that failure to address the issues within the stipulated period would prompt him to take further action to press for improved healthcare facilities for the people of Canacona.
