PANAJI: Residents of Bhoma have voiced strong distrust toward the government over the ongoing bypass road project, demanding that officials provide clear and on-ground clarity before moving ahead with construction.
Speaking to the media, locals said they have lost trust in the government and Public Works Department (PWD) officials, alleging that for the past two years, they have not been given accurate information about the proposed road alignment.
“We want a bypass, but we don’t trust the plans being presented. Let the engineers come and mark the alignment on the ground – only then will we know the truth,” said a resident. The community insists that unless physical markings are made on-site, they will continue to oppose any proposed layouts.
The villagers stressed that repeated requests for transparent communication have been ignored, fueling suspicion and unrest regarding the future of their homes, farmlands, and livelihoods.
The situation remains tense as locals await further clarification from the authorities.
