VASCO: Mormugao BJP, Congress, and AAP candidates take common issues of the hospital, jobs, community hall, scientific coal handling, Baina beach beautification, improvement of bus services etc. issues in
their manifestos this elections.
In Mormugao taluka, Former BJP minister and BJP candidate Milind Naik has been going strong with his door to door campaigning, and the recent visits of the top brass BJP leaders from India in Goa, will surely going to have an impact in Mormugao. As per the top source from BJP, it came to light that most leaders are going ahead with the BJP party manifesto. Milind Naik has been MLA of Mormugao three times. He has initiated several projects such as swimming pool, Varunapuri to MPT link road, road widening and tarrying, market complex, water reservoirs in his constituency, beautification of Baina etc., and giving his voters jobs.
This time, two main issues he has promised to take up are community hall of 1000 to 1500 seating capacity for the people of Mormugao. Another work he would like to do is to bring a Health centre/hospital to his constituency. With these issues, he is going to the people and once again asking for a vote.
On the other hand, Congress candidate Sankalp Amonkar is also not leaving any stone unturned to convince the voters that he is the able and best candidate for Mormugao. Amonkar has been seen asking for a single chance to prove his worthiness as an MLA. He has put out an attractive manifesto in the public domain. He has promised in his manifesto to give wifi facility and better connectivity to the people, a better medical facility in terms of hospital, railing at hilly areas, maintenance of recreational parks, usage of non-conventional sources of energy for establishments, public library, scientific handling and elimination of coal pollution, Temporary shack at Baina beach etc., regularisation of houses, gymnasium up-gradation, community hall for the people, creation of a database of the unemployed youths and skill and merit-based jobs etc.
Another candidate of the Aam Aadmi Party, Parshuram Sonurlekar, also goes forward to people with his manifesto. He has promised in his manifesto that he won’t allow coal and other polluting cargo which is destroying the beauty and health of the people, legalization of houses, primary health centre, beautification of Baina beach, ward community halls, playschools in each ward, renovation of government schools, improving of bus services, 2000 plus jobs and door to door government services are on the platter which Sonurlekar wants to offer to the people of Mormugao.
AAP, which is gaining popularity in Goa, will surely give the other two candidates a tough time since this time, people will crave a change, and there will be silent voting. It will be difficult to predict who will win or lose this time.
