VASCO: GPCC Vice President Sankalp Amonkar on Wednesday in a press conference said that The BJP has stoped to its lowest level in Mormugao and BJP led by Urban Development Minister Milind Naik and his candidates has now resorted to filing false complains against his candidates only to call them to the Dy Collector office and keep them busy for an entire day only to waste their time.
Amonkar said that the officials of the flying squad comprising of electricity department staff are being pressurized to interfere during their rallies and meeting . Amonkar said that the police force was also being misused to create fear in the minds of voters as well.
” Just a few days ago after announcing panel and beginning campaigning, we have got a tremendous response. But some how we feel that MLA Minister Milind Naik is scared and till date we have never seen such gross misuse of government machinery .
The environment of fear is being created in Mormugao and from 16th of this month, there have been several false complains made against our candidates. Murari Bandekar has filed a complain that shradda Amonkar has distributed mixers and with such complains we are being called to Dy Collector where we are made to sit for hours .This is deliberately done to waste the time of candidates to prevent them from campaigning.
However when we filed a counter complain on the opposition candidates , there had been no response . ” said Amonkar
“The flying squad is comprised of electricity department officials and they are also being pressurized. The government staff is being pressurized to act against us and this is injustice to the candidates of our panel.
As a candidate if any of our person visits other wards to meet his voters, they are stopped by the flying squad. The police department is being totally being misused and every 100 metres there is police force and most of the police is stationed outside the office of our candidates only with the aim to instill fear in the minds of voters and prevent them from coming to candidates office ” said Amonkar
” I had taken a meeting after due permission and half way through , there were 6 jeeps of police that arrived and people were scared.
The police stayed there all through the meeting and eve during the rally in ward no 9, the police arrived on the site and our voters got scared
We have never seen such dirty elections tactic and everyday our supporters are being taken to the police station and released only at night. The police are only saying that there is a complaint and are taking our supporters to the police station on false complains .” Said Amonkar
“The ruling BJP Minister Milind Naik and his candidates are filing false complains on the opposition which is surprising. It is only mormugao constituency where ruling is filing false complain on the opposition and this only shows that Milind Naik is scared and trying to do everything possible to stop our candidates and our supporters from canvassing ” said Amonkar
” We urge the people not to be misguided and fall prey to such tactics . Our candidate Nilesh Navelkar has tested positive and cannot campaign but he has clarified that Vinnie Bhagat is the official candidate of our panel ” said Amonkar
Meanwhile candidate Candidate Nitin Chopdekar and Shekhar Khadapkar also spoke on the occasion.
