PONDA: BJP minority cell was criticized for failing to repair and restore the retaining wall of Historic Safa Masjid.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Chairman for Minority Cell Nazhir Khan questioned the purpose of BJP minority Cell as Urfan Mulla failed to work for minorities, including Muslim, Catholic, Jain, Sikh etc. and giving only vague promises.
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) Chairman for Minority Cell Nazhir Khan and local congress committee members criticized the BJP Government and its Minority Cell Chief Urfan Mulla for failing to conduct repairs and restore the retaining wall of Historic Safa Masjid at Ponda.
Nazir Khan pointed out that five months ago, due to cyclonic wind and heavy rain, the retaining wall of Safa Masjid collapsed.
The wall was inspected by Deputy Chief Minister Babu Kavlekar and Urfan Mulla and was assured to be restored quickly and was expected by them to restore the collapsed wall with the support of the Archaeological Survey of India.
BJP Minority Cell Urfan Mulla had also assured to restore the retaining wall soon, but it’s now six months passed there is no sign of restoring the retaining wall.
He said after Congress Government came to power in Goa, the Safa Masjid wall would be restored within a short period as also all efforts will be made to solve pending issues, problems of minority Communities.
