PANAJI: Terming the alliance between it’s former ally MGP and TMC as “unholy”, the Bhartiya Janata Party today said that the coalition will not be accepted by the people of Goa.
“We clearly term this alliance of the MGP-TMC as unholy. This alliance or coalition will not be accepted by the people of Goa. Dhavalikar brothers have only made this alliance for vitamin M so that their election campaign can be done with,” said Tanavade reacting to the MGP-TMC alliance.
He further said that it doesn’t make any distinction to the BJP. He mentioned the get together is ready to battle a state of affairs where everyone seems to be pitted in opposition to BJP.
“BJP is not interested in MGP candidates. Dhavalikar must keep his flock together. MGP is now Dhavalikar Brothers Pvt Ltd company and not the age-old party started by Bhausaheb Bandodkar,” Tanavade said.
Referring to Goa’s first CM, Dayanand Bandodkar, who had founded the MGP, Sawant said Late Bhausaheb (Dayanand) Bandodkar will not have peace wherever he is.
State BJP president Sadanand Shet Tanavade said, “I have seen cartoons on various WhatsApp groups. It is shown there that when a lion does not get anything to eat, it eats grass. Notably, the lion is the MGP’s election symbol.”
Speaking on TMC, Tanavade said that in 2010 when present Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was the Union railway minister, she had announced double-tracking in Goa in her Budget speech.
“Double tracking work was undertaken by Mamata Banerjee in 2010 when she was Railway Minister in the UPA cabinet,” Tanavade clarified.
Talking on the alleged intercourse scandal involving a BJP minister, Tanavade mentioned that his deadline to Congress president Girish Chodankar was over, but when he has the title, he ought to announce it as “our leaders are in Goa”.
“As soon as Chodankar declares the title, we’ll instantly act in opposition to the minister,” he mentioned.
Speaking on Khaunte’s entry to BJP, Tanavade said that he has no idea of Porvorim MLA Rohan Khaunte joining BJP.
“There are many people who want to join BJP as they know that we are going to form next government,” he added.
