PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant today said that the date for presentation of Budget is yet to be decided while te discussion on Budget will happen for next session.
CM was speaking to media persons after the Business Advisory Committee(BAC) meeting held today.
“Budget will be presented in this session and vote on account will be taken. Discussion on the budget will be held in the next assembly session, Date on which budget will be presented has not yet been decided,” said CM Sawant
When asked if working days of the session will be extended beyond March 31, CM said, “There is no other business, so there is no point in extending the session.”
Speaking further, Sawant said that Central team comprising of Chief Coordinator for India’s G20 Presidency, Harsh Vardhan Shringla , Secretary- Union Tourism Ministry Arvind Singh and other officials, are on a 3 day visit to Goa from Mar 19 to 21 to review G20 summit related works in the state including infrastructure and arrangements.
“Goa will host 8 meetings of the summit. The first set of meetings will be held from April 17 to 19. Summit meeting will also be held in May, June and July,’ he added
He informed that the June set of meetings will be prolonged and will be held from June 5 to June 23.
“Health and Tourism Ministry level meetings of the prestigious Summit will be held in Goa,’ he said
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Yuri Alemao said that they condemn the curtailment of the session of Goa legislative assembly.
GF MLA Vijai Sardesai said that seating of the Goa Legislative assembly has been curtailed because chief minister Pramod Sawant is scared to face the Opposition.
The 5 day State Legislative Assembly Session which was to be held from March 27 to March 31 was curtailed to 4 days on account of Ram Navami on March 30.
