PANAJI: Goa BJP State President Damu Naik has said that the state should have a woman minister in its Cabinet after the 2027 Assembly elections, while also praising MLA Deviya Rane’s leadership potential.
When asked who could be the woman minister in the Goa Cabinet after the 2027 elections, Naik said that everything could not be disclosed in advance and that the decision would be announced at the appropriate time.
However, he firmly stated that Goa should definitely have a woman minister.
Asked whether Deviya Rane could be considered for a ministerial portfolio if re-elected, Naik said she has the potential to handle and lead a ministry.
He also referred to her work at the Goa Forest Development Corporation (GFDC), stating that she has managed the corporation effectively and has been functioning almost like a minister.
