PANAJI: State Cabinet has approved summoning of Goa Legislative Assembly Session from July 28.
CM Sawant, however said that the duration of the session will be decided only after consulting the Speaker.
“Upcoming monsoon session of Goa Legislative Assembly will begin from July 28 onwards and duration of the session to be decided after discussing with assembly speaker Rajesh Patnekar,” said CM Sawant
He further said that that a full fledged budget will be passed by July 28 in Goa assembly and that they are managing with vote on account which has limitations.
The Budget session held in March was curtailed after the election model code of conduct came into force on March 31, in view of the second phase of municipal elections, held in April. The Assembly session was cut short by two weeks and adjourned till July 19.
The Chief Minister had on March 24 presented a Rs 25,058.65 crore Budget, which was 19 per cent more than the Budget outlay for 2020-21.
The total capital expenditure was pegged at Rs 6914.65 crore, while the revenue expenditure is at Rs 14,729.03 crore.
