CANACONA: A Shivpremi lodged an official complaint at Canacona Police Station against Fr. Bolmax Pereira, for making a statement on Shrimant Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and hurting the sentiment of Goan People.
Addressed to the Police Inspector/Canacona Police Station, with a subject matter Regarding a Viral Video clip aimed at creating hatred and disturbing peace and harmony amongst different communities, Samrat Sharad Bhagat, a resident of Canacona on a letter-head of Shivjayanti Samaroah Samittee,Canacona mentioned the content of the Sermon (in Konkani and translated into English in the complaint) objectionable part, which went viral on various social platforms including Watsapp.
Bhagat said he and lakhs of Shiv premis (Shiv Bhakts) across Goa are disturbed over the utterance of a priest from a platform that they believe is the pulpit of a church.
“The video clip which has gone viral since than has hurt the sentiments of the Shiv Premies in particular and all the Goans irrespective of cast, creed or religion in general, created discord, given rise to suspicion and anger and was unwarranted to say the least”. Complaint states.
Police were also informed that the complainant’s inquiries have revealed that the person involved is Bolmax Pereira deputed as a priest in SFC Church, Chicalim.
The complaintant has demanded immediate filing of FIR against Fr. Bolmax Pereira under section 153(A)of the Indian Penal Code for promoting disharmony or enmity between religious groups and sec 295(A) for deliberately and knowingly indulging in a malicious act intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class by insulting its religioun or religious belief and instigating people to indulge in an act that might lead to commun al discord, disharmony, and may even lead to disturbing of the peace.
Also have demanded immediate investigation of the accused and to immediately remove all the objectionable sermons that are in circulation on various social media platforms, issued an immediate public apology and withdraw all the objectionbable comments, and once found guilty to punish the accused as per the relevant sections of IPC.
A CD of the speech/sermon by the alleged accused is also handed over to the police.-
