PANAJI: Carmel Boys Curtorim secured a thrilling victory over Ghantamorod Boys Navelim, edging past them 6-5 in a tense tiebreaker to book their spot in the finals of the 18th Rebello Pandal Football Tournament. The semi-final clash took place at St. Rita Church Ground in Maina Curtorim.
Both teams displayed high-intensity football from the start, but neither could find the back of the net during regulation time, with the score locked at 0-0. In the ensuing penalty shootout, Carmel Boys Curtorim held their nerve and emerged as the superior side in the tiebreaker.
Meliston Dias of Ghantamorod Boys Navelim was adjudged the ‘Man of the Match’ for his standout performance and was presented with the award by Rosario Fernandes.
Carmel Boys Curtorim will now face hosts Rebello Pandal Maina in the tournament final, scheduled for Sunday, May 11, 2025, at 4:30 PM.
