CANACONA: A rickshaw carrying Catering equipment hits a road divider, and breaks on a street-lamp post, before skidding on Manohar Parrikar Canacona Bypass Road (MPCBR) at Rajbhg-Tarir junction in Canacona on Wednesday.
The Rickshaw with three occupants coming from Karwar was travelling on MPCBR after returning back home to Margao reportedly after providing Catering Services on reaching the slight turn at Rajbhag-Tarir junction, skidded off the road, hit the road-divider and street-lamp post and fell on the road on one side.
The lamp post got snapped from its base on fell on the road, while all the catering equipment including the Cutlery items such as plates and serving dishes, fell strewn in broken pieces all over the road.
One of the three occupants suffered hand injuries and is shifted to Community Health Centre, Canacona, while two others escaped any injuries in the mishap at the accident-prone turn on MPCBR.
According to locals, though the turn on MPCBR is not very sharp, several mishaps are taking place at the site including fatal accidents.
