Madeira has said that during the technical section of the Corporation of the City of Panaji, it was noticed that the building was in a dilapidated condition and posed danger to occupants and the general public as well.
It was also determined to obtain a structural stability certificate for the building due to the large trees that are currently standing on top of the decaying structure.
The Government Polytechnic, Altinho, consultant engineer’s building fitness of condition survey report was requested by the Corporation of the City of Panaji, and it was obtained.
The report stated that the building has outlived its economic useful life and is currently in a distressed state, characterized by structural defects and substandard condition. Essentially, the building is currently unsafe for human occupation.
