PANAJI: MGP Supremo Sudin Dhavalikar today said that he was shocked to hear the statements made by Former Goa Governor over corruption in state government while stating that Chief Minister Sawant and Cabinet Ministers should resign.
“I am literally shocked to hear the statements made by Former Goa Governor over Satya Pal Malik. The CM Sawant and Cabinet should resign over corruption charges,” said Sudin.
He further alleged that he relates corruption to different projects such as Kala Academy, Court building and bus stand projects as an extra 15 per cent amount to the project cost.
Speaking on elections, Dhavalikar said that the state could go for early elections if we look at the crises the state government is in.
“We demand to prepone elections and impose Governor’s rule in the state,” he said.
“We are firm on contesting in 16 seats. We won’t compromise on it. In the remaining 24 seats, we can either support individuals or candidates of regional parties,” he said.
When asked about their talks with the Arvind Kejriwal led AAP, Dhavalikar said that the option is now closed.
“We had two meetings with AAP leaders, but after that, things did not work out as we were expecting. I can say that the AAP option is closed,” he said.
The party executive committee is likely to meet next week to decide on more candidates.
The party is set to contest in Madkai, Ponda, Shiroda, Priol, Mandrem, Pernem, Sanvordem, Mapusa, Dabolim, Bicholim, Curchorem, Mayem for now.
Meanwhile, Sudin said that talks between Goencho Awaaz is currently going on, and a decision will be taken soon
