PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has said that the high court order on making Covid negative certificate mandatory at the borders is impractical and that state government will submit an affidavit in the high court to this effect.
“Asking for Covid negative certificate from every person entering Goa will burden the already strained govt machinery,” he said.
Many drive-in with essential supplies to Goa everyday and some come by train, it is difficult to get Covid negative certificate from all, he said
The Bombay High court at Goa on Thursday had directed the State government to ensure that no one is allowed to enter Goa without producing a COVID19 negative certificate, from May 10 onwards.
The State Government was directed to file an affidavit indicating whether any thought process has gone in respect of a lockdown considering that the situation is out of control.
The Court has also directed government to make public, via its official website, the real time data on availability of beds, oxygen cylinders, ventilators, ICUs, etc in all government as well empanelled private hospitals for Covid patients.
