PANAJI: Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar today said that law and order have collapsed in the state and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant should resign over his failure to curb crimes.
“This is ironic that the law and order situation has collapsed in the Goa under BJP. I think Chief Minister should either resign or CM .should leave his position if he cannot solve this,” said Patkar
He further said that under the BJP rule, the law and order situation in Goa has been on the rise and crimes are increasing.
Speaking on Mhadei, Patkar said that CM Pramod Sawant on the one hand campaigns for his party in Karnataka but on the other side Karnataka CM says they will divert Mhadei water at any cost.
“Goa CM should take a clear stand on Mhadei before going to Karnataka and doing campaigning because of Karnataka CM is on record saying he will divert Mhadei,” he added
Patkar said that CM Bommai has made it clear that they will divert the Mhadei project at any cost.
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has declared that he will not rest till the Mhadei River flows into the Malaprabha river.
He said that Congress has no moral right to talk about farmers. Bommai claimed that at that time, the then AICC Chairperson Sonia Gandhi told in a public rally in Goa that not a drop of the Mahadayi river will be given to Karnataka.
