PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today clarified that the land proposed for Convention Centre at Dona-paula is neither sold or given on lease.
“The amount of Rs.540 crore referred in the news item as cost of land is incorrect and misleading as the said amount is the estimated cost of the mandatory facilities to be developed by the Concessionaire at his own cost,” said CM
He further said that RFP for the said project has been floated and bid process is still going on. The land for the proposed Convention Centre at Dona Paula is being neither sold nor given on lease to the winning bidder.
Even the land cannot be mortgaged by the winning bidder for raising finance. The land will be given on license basis with Right of Way for development of the project.
“The title of the land shall remain in the name of the Government and the entire project get transferred to the Government after the concession period. Government will get revenue share from the Concessionaire from the date of commissioning of the project till the end of the concession period.: he added
