PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Thursday called on all government departments to enhance waste management systems and achieve total regulatory compliance across sectors.
Chairing a review meeting with officials of the Goa Waste Management Corporation and other stakeholders, Sawant pressed for urgent measures to accelerate the State’s waste management goals.
In a post on social media platform X, the Chief Minister said he had instructed the departments to reinforce systems for handling hazardous, biomedical, and wet waste, ensuring they meet all regulations in full.
Sawant also underscored the importance of adopting scientific, transparent, and time-bound approaches to maintain Goa’s cleanliness and environmental health. “Goa should aim to become a national model for sustainable waste management,” he urged, calling on all stakeholders to join forces in realising the vision of a Swachh and Swayampurna Goem.
