Panaji: The Minister for Environment, Alexio Sequeira (Dy. Chairman of Exposition Secretariat Committee), chaired the Exposition Committee for the 18th Solemn Exposition of Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier (SFX) 2024 at the Mantralaya in Porvorim today.
Present were Cumbharjua MLA, Rajesh Faldessai, Chief Secretary, Puneet Kumar Goel, IAS, Commissioner of the Exposition Committee, Sandip Jacques, IAS, Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS, Collector North, Dr Sneha Gitte, IAS, Collector South, Asvin Chandru A, IAS, Director of Department of Information and Publicity, Shri Dipak Bandekar, Commissioner for Labour and Employment, Dr Levinson Martins, police and Church representatives among others.
Heads of various departments gave a report on the Functional Areas assigned to them.
Jacques instructed them to complete all works at the earliest as they would be conducting mock drills towards the run of the Exposition to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Among the issues discussed were allotting additional Kadamba buses, categories for accreditation passes,
approach road management, disaster management system, designated areas for evacuation areas and assembly points, Medical block, semi-permanent barracks and cooking space for pilgrims, and waste sorting system among other things.
The Church representatives thanked the Committee members and expressed confidence that the authorities will ensure work is completed on time.
On the occasion, the website for the 18th Exposition of Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier (SFX) 2024 was launched at the hands of the Convenor of the Exposition Committee, Rev Fr Henry Falcao.
The website which is an informative and user-friendly platform has been created in collaboration with the Archdiocese of Goa Daman and Diu and aims to provide pilgrims and visitors with comprehensive details about
the Exposition, ensuring their journey to and participation in this momentous event is seamless and well-informed.
The Infotech Corporation of Goa that designed the website thanked the Archdiocese of Goa Daman and Diu for their invaluable support in gathering the necessary data and helping refine the content.
The website offers a range of features designed to assist pilgrims and visitors, including a detailed roadmap for reaching the Sé Cathedral and Basilica from both
North and South Goa, marked parking arrangements to facilitate easy access to designated parking areas, a comprehensive schedule of novenas and masses available to pilgrims during the Exposition, and a query form to address any mass-related questions or clarifications by Church authorities.
Additionally, the website is also designed with accessibility in mind, ensuring an inclusive experience for all visitors including the Persons With Disability.
The Exposition of Sacred Relics of St. Francis Xavier 2024 website is now live and ready to serve the needs of pilgrims and visitors alike, providing a smooth and enriching journey during this sacred event.
