PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has urged BJP leaders and members to begin getting ready for the Goa Assembly elections in 2027. Speaking during the Mandal presidents’ inauguration and farewell, Sawant emphasized the importance of cooperation in gaining a majority.
He asked the recently elected Mandal heads to concentrate on areas without an MLA for the party.
“We need to start working today to ensure a victory in 2027,” he stated. Sawant also counseled party members to settle disputes within the party and refrain from making disparaging remarks in public. “Disputes should be resolved with senior party members within the party. Our top goal is to win the elections,” he continued.
He informed employees that municipal elections will be held in March 2025 and Zilla Panchayat elections would take place in December 2025. He urged members to pinpoint and improve areas where the party has previously failed, with an eye toward the 2027 elections.
Saying, “This is not just about 2027; our vision should extend beyond that,” Sawant called for unity in order to strengthen the party’s standing in Goa.
In a stern warning, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed his displeasure with the growing animosity among party leaders and MLAs and ordered everyone to refrain from public remarks and to settle internal disputes.
“Whether it’s good or bad, don’t make it public,” Sawant added.Avoid making statements in public. If at all possible, attempt to address it internally by speaking with the general secretary or party president.
A day after MLA Nilesh Cabral confronted the Chief Minister, claiming that despite assurances, a number of projects in the Curchorem seat are being delayed, the warning was issued. On Monday, though, he asserted that the media had misquoted him.
