PANAJI: Hours after Congress declared candidature of former Union Law Minister Ramakant Khalap from North Goa, party’s one of the ticket aspirant Vijay Bhike has expressed strong displeasure over him being sidelined.
Bhike, whose name was making round since the beginning, blamed party local leaders for failing to convince the high command about need to promote and field active young leaders and Cadres. He pointed out that despite being front runner, he was denied ticket even during 2022 assembly elections.
” I have been actively working in lifting the party for last 27 years. Our local leaders have failed to promote the young leaders,” he said.
Bhike said that party preferred to give a ticket to a person, who has contested three LS elections in the past, but won only one.
