PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today said that Congress has stooped down abysmally in their election campaign to target Goa’s tallest leader Manohar Parrikar most pathetically.
“Congress has stooped down abysmally in their election campaign to target one of Goa’s tallest leaders, our Manohar Bhai Parrikar, in the most pathetic manner,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that such comments from senior Congress leaders at Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Goa have hurt my fellow Goans and me, and the Congress must apologize to the people of Goa.
“I think Rahul Gandhi came here as a tourist, on vacation. If he cannot see all this development, I don’t understand what he’s doing. Never mind, no one takes him seriously anyway,” he said.
He further attacked Congress over the series of oath-taking events organized by the grand old party, in which party candidates were made to pledge against defection post-elections.
“If Congress does not trust its own candidates, how can the people of Goa trust them as MLAs,” CM Sawant said.
During his press conference yesterday, Rahul had slammed the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying that the saffron party has failed on all fronts in the state.
“You saw how the BJP government failed in tourism, COVID19, and employment. We’re not giving tickets to defectors, have given tickets to new people this time. Congress will form a govt in Goa with a full majority,” he had said.
