VASCO: South Goa Congress leader captain Viriato Fernandes on Thursday hit out at Santacruz MLA Rudolph Fernandes.
Speaking to reporters at Vasco captain Viriato Fernandes said that Rudolph will go down in the history of Goa as a betrayer.
“A French philosopher once said that people get the leader that they deserve and this is the irony of the people in Goa. In the recent statement Rudolf Fernandes had said that he had joined the BJP by mistake but he is very happy now with the development works taking place but probably he has forgotten that huge money was involved when he joined the BJP,” said Viriato.
He added, “I think it was a mistake of the Congress to even take him in the party and he has no values to represent and he has nothing to show the people to take him as the role model. What can you learn from him especially when he has nothing to show the people”.
Fernandes said a source in the BJP party told him that he was present when the MLAs were being bought from the Congress party but Rudolph Fernandes was one such MLA who refused to join till the time he did not count the money.
“Many cash counting machines had to be got from a casino ship for this purpose and the counting of money that began at 8 pm finished at around 3 am in the morning which only shows his love for the money and not any developments in his constituency. People will teach this man a lesson who is a one time MLA come to loot the people. Such people will not go down in history as heroes but will go down in the history of Goa as a betrayer”, said Fernandes.
