PANAJI: The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has organised a mega demonstration against the price rise in Mapusa on November 3- on Diwali.
Addressing a press conference, AICC leader and Goa election observer P Chidambaram said that there is no economic justification for increasing petrol, diesel, and LPG prices.
He said that the party is ready to debate the price rise with any Central or State minister.
Chidambaram said that Ministers in Goa have turned “deaf..dumb..blind” to the people’s suffering.
He announced that GPCC will hold demonstration on November 3 at Mapusa against price rise.
Chidambaram said that the party would burn the effigy of “Mahangaisur”.
Former Union Minister also questioned Narendra Modi’s government’s silence on the corruption allegations levied by sitting Governor Satyapal Malik against the Dr Pramod Sawant led BJP government.
“The silence shows that the charges are true. Or else, Modi should have acted against Sawant or dropped Governor,” he said.
