PONDA: The Water Consumers residing in society near Almeida High School complained that they received a bill of Rs 63928 after a gap of nine months delay.
Vishal Fadte, a social worker who is residing in the building, said there are around 16 flats in his building.
“If PWD issues a bill after a long delay, it would be difficult for them to make payments as the monthly budget collapse. He said PWD should issue monthly bills so people can pay on time,” he said.
Fadte said if people receive huge bills at a time, suddenly they would be unable to pay, and in case it is disconnected for non-payment, PWD should be held responsible.
He demanded PWD monthly bills to people as many can’t afford to spend huge amounts of money on bills payment at a time.
“We have to share at least Rs 4000 to clear the water bill at a time which we used to share Rs 250 to Rs 300 monthly,” he said.
