MARGAO: Corjem Sports Club down Novowaddo Sports Club 6-5 via the tiebreaker to enter into the quarterfinals of the Batora United 9-a-side football tournament Organised by Batora United and played at St.Alex Church ground Curtorim.
The match started at a fast pace and both teams showed urgency to score goals and succeeded on many occasions but couldn’t break the deadlock and remained 0-0 till halftime.
In the second session, Novowaddo Sports Club opened the scoreline through Delly Fernandes with a powerful header that crushed in the Corjem nets in the 40th minute of play while Corjem found the equaliser in the 60th minute of play with neat placement by Ashford Fernandes and the result was decided by a penalty kick.
In the resultant tiebreaker, Corjem Sports Club prove to be better shooters
