Panaji: Alleging that Housekeeping contract of the Directorate of Health Services has been given to firm which quoted double than BJP’s Karykarta’s to get 75 per cent commission, Congress on Sunday stated that saffron party which imported leaders like Vishwajit Rane are now depriving BJP’s original cadre by making corruption of Rs 118 crore.
Chodankar on Sunday addressed press conference in Congress House and exposed Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and BJP government for awarding tender to Eco Clean System & Solution which had quoted Rs 104.8 crore, whereas BJP’s Karyakarta Pradeep Shet had quoted mere Rs 47.03 crore through his firm Mahalsa Services.
Congress leaders Virendra Shirodkar, Floarian Miranda and Anwar Sayyed were also present.
He also alleged that qualifying criteria was decided by contractors themselves and not by officials. “Government had not estimated the cost the of this service, it had to be done by bidder. This is clear cut that it was fixed to award this tender to firm close to Health Minister to get 75 per cent commission,” he said.
“Shet’s bid was deliberately rejected on filthy ground of not having work experience of Rs 10 crore job. His financial bid was not even opened over this matter to purposely keep him away from the tendering process. This is only because Vishwajit Rane wanted to give this tender to firm from where he can get commission,” Chodankar said.
He said that it will be loot of Rs 118 core as contract will be extended for more five years. “For five years this firm believed to be close to Rane has quoted Rs 104.8 Crore, whereas Shet had quoted mere Rs 47.03 crore. Difference is around Rs 57 crore for five years, for extended five years with 5% increase after 3 years there will be loot of another Rs 61 crores,” Chodankar said.
“It is sad to know that Pradeep Shet who was first elected BJP Panch member along with Shripad Naik and has served for the BJP’s growth last 25 years including Yuva Morcha had to approach court to get justice. At least Pradeep Shet showed his guts to fight against such corruption practice adopted by imported leader of BJP and it is best that High court has given direction to reconsider his technical bid & open his financial bid,” Chodankar said.
“We had only heard that NGOs, Claud Alvares and others who fight against corruption & destruction of Goa approach court. But now even BJPs karykartas are fed-up of corruption practices and have started to take legal help to curb it,” Chodankar said.
“I want to know from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and BJP president Tanavade whether this is ‘Ram Rajya’ where states coffers are looted,” Chodankar questioned, adding that BJP karyakarta are forced to approach courts for every issue.
“It’s time for BJP’s hard core karyakartas to think how your own Government is treating you. “I challenge CM, BJP President and health minister Rane to counter my allegations and prove me wrong,” he said, adding states liability is over Rs 36000 crore and the corruption by BJP is adding more into it.
