The Panaji City councilor Bento Lorena today filed a police complaint against Health Minister Vishwajit Rane and owner of Oxygen manufacturing company Scoop Sanjiv Naik accusing them of murdering innocent lives at Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on account of shortage of oxygen.
In a complaint before Panaji police, Lorena has demanded that the Minister and Naik be booked for criminal Conspiracy and culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The complainant alleges that Rane hand-picked Scoop as sole supplier of Oxygen to GMC and that the Scoop supplied half filled or empty cylinders in the oxygen trolly resulting in deaths of many Covid patient.
The complainant charged that the ongoing oxygen shortage for patients is man-made and brainchild of Rane, Naik and other health officials.
“Large number of deaths have been occasioned only on account of shortage of supply of oxygen, which has been solely on account of the act of Vishwajit Rane,” the complainant charged.
The police complaint is filed day after Panaji MLA Atanasio Monserratte held Rane responsible for the current COVID crisis and rising number of deaths due to the virus.
