The State government has extended the date for filing of objections for the private forest upto 31, August 2020.
A public notice issued by the Dy Conservator of Forests Kuldeep Sharma IFS, says, “the date of receipt of objections/ representations, if any, from the landowners, whose land has been preliminary identified as private forest by District Level Expert Committee for North and South Goa (Thomas and Araujo Committee) is further extended till 31/08/2020 in view of the COVID-19 scenario in the state.”
It further says that it is informed to all concerned that the objections/ representations can also be submitted on Email address [email protected]. to avoid unnecessary travel to submit the same physically.
Objections in physical form/ bulky annexures can be submitted later on to this office as the COVID-19 situation becomes normal, the notice reads.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the case as regards the private forest land in Goa is pending before the National Green Tribunal (NGT), and the government after inquiring into the particular issue vis-à-vis reports of various related committees, would prepare a final report to be submitted to the NGT.
