PANAJI: Hinting at possible alliance talks between the two parties- BJP and MGP, the Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that the decision to go together for 2022 elections will be taken after discussion.
Sawant today said that he and MGP MLA Ramkrishna Dhavalikar will continue to be the legislators in the new State government, which will be formed next year post polls due in February 2022.
The Chief Minister interrupted the media briefing of Dhavalikar at the State Assembly complex post-Business Advisory Committee meeting.
When asked whether both the leaders wi be together in the new government, Sawant said, ” that decision will take place after talks”.
To which, Dhavalikar also did not deny the statement.
Interestingly, the statement came after Dhavalikar held a meeting with BJP Goa in charge of Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai last night.
Dhavalikar confirmed his meeting with Fadnavis; he ruled out any talks on alliance for the 2022 elections. ” I am meeting all the leaders who want to meet me. Fadnavis is also one of the leaders,” he said.
“But we had no talks on the alliance,” he added.
Dhavalikar, has repeatedly ruled out going with BJP for 2022 elections. MGO, which was part of the BJP government in 2017, withdrew its support after its leader Dhavalikar was removed as Cabinet Minister by Sawant.
