PRIOL: Indirectly Admitting an anti-incumbency wave against five-time MP and North Goa BJP candidate Shripad Naik, Minister Govind Gaude said that people wish to see Modi as PM for the third consecutive term and BJP’s aggressive campaign will help the candidate to win in North Goa.
Speaking to reporters after casting a vote, Gaude said that he is not sure that how many voters in Priol will vote for “bhau” as there is a clear message through social media about the non-performance of the MP.
He, however, said that Priol will give BJp a maximum lead, repeating the 2009 history wherein the constituency – which was earlier part of South Goa, was the turning factor for North.
The Minister further said that the Parliamentary poll is also going to be a litmus test for the ruling MLAs. He said that the voting trend will give a clear picture of how the MLAs from those constituencies have worked for the party.
“Through social media like FB, Instagram…there are these messages that Bhau has done nothing in these 25 years. Let us not get into that..but I think one has to see whether he or she went to Bhau for some work and if it was done,” he said.
“People want to see Modi as PM for the third term and our BJP aggressive campaign even before the candidate was announced and this will help Bhau win in North very comfortably,” he added.
