PORVORIM:
Goa Assembly Speaker Rajesh Patnekar on Wednesday dismissed the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) MLA Sudhin Dhavalikar disqualification petitions against his former party MLAs.
Speaking to reporters, Dhavalikar said the Speaker in just one line said the petition is dismissed.
“The Speaker said he will give a details in the order. We will wait for final order then we will decide whether to approach High Court or not,” he stated.
Dhavalikar has filed disqualification petitions against state tourism minister Manohar Ajgaonkar and PWD minister Deepak Pauskar for defecting from the party and joining the BJP.
The Speaker earlier had asked Dhavalikar to withdraw one of the petitions, while the other one was retained as valid.
Pauskar and Ajgaonkar had left the MGP in March 2019 to join the BJP, where they were inducted in Pramod Sawant-led cabinet.
