PANAJI: Pratik P. Naik Borkar, Komal Kothari, Priyansh Sawant Dessai and Saachi Sinai Kenkre emerged as the standout performers by winning two titles each at the All Goa Open Under 11 and Under 13 Badminton Tournament held at the Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Navelim.
Organised by the Salcete Badminton Club under the aegis of the Goa Badminton Association and powered by Model Margao, the tournament showcased the state’s rising badminton talent through a series of competitive matches.
Saachi Sinai Kenkre enjoyed an impressive campaign by winning the Girls’ Singles Under 11 title before teaming up with Yashika Koneru to clinch the Girls’ Doubles Under 11 crown. Pratik P. Naik Borkar also completed a double by securing the Boys’ Singles Under 13 title and partnering Varun Sahakari to lift the Boys’ Doubles Under 13 trophy.
Komal Kothari dominated the Girls’ Under 13 category, claiming the singles title before joining Ashbah Tahasildar to win the Girls’ Doubles event. Priyansh Sawant Dessai completed the list of double champions after defeating Aariketh Chari in the Boys’ Singles Under 11 final and later partnering Mahipal Sinh Parmar to win the Boys’ Doubles Under 11 title.
Among the runners up, Oorvi Khyalia finished second in the Girls’ Singles Under 11 category, while Vedh Lotliker was runner up in the Boys’ Singles Under 13 event. Ashbah Tahasildar finished second in the Girls’ Singles Under 13 category despite winning the doubles title.
In the doubles events, Aariketh Chari and Sambhav Bhardwaj were runners up in the Boys’ Doubles Under 11 category, while Ayansh Sanke and Mihir Chafadkar finished second in the Boys’ Doubles Under 13 event. Oorvi Khyalia and Samaira Velip secured the runners up spot in the Girls’ Doubles Under 11 category, while Nishka Gauns Dessai and Tirtha Shetkar finished as runners up in the Girls’ Doubles Under 13 event.
