New Delhi: Pomona, a vibrant city in Eastern Los Angeles County, is set to make history as it hosts the highly anticipated cricket tournament during the 2028 Olympics. This momentous occasion marks the sport’s triumphant return to the Olympic stage after an incredible 128 years. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed that the competition will feature six teams each in men’s and women’s categories, all vying for glory at the Fairgrounds in Pomona.
The choice of Pomona as the venue for this prestigious event underscores a significant leap in cricket’s global recognition. The sport, which last appeared in the Olympics at the 1900 Paris Games, is now poised to captivate new audiences with its fast-paced and thrilling T20 format.
