PANAJI: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral said that there had been incidences of switch lid boxes being tempered by miscreants and doors being taken away for selling as scrap.
“Wherever the switch box lids malfunction due to corrosion of hinges, Department staff take action to replace the same. There are also incidences of the boxes being tampered with by miscreants and doors being taken away for selling as scrap. The Department has to arrange for replacing such damaged boxes,” said Cabral.
He further said the line staff are instructed to inspect open switch boxes and rectify the same at the earliest.
“This is a continuous process, and the streetlight junction boxes found without covers are replaced or new covers are fitted. Open switch boxes observed during the regular inspection will be replaced on priority,” he added.
Solar power generated in Goa till
March 2021 is 17.1092 Mus: Cabral

PANAJI: Power Minister Nilesh Cabral said that the total solar power generated in the State of Goa till March 2021is 17.1092 MUs, and the target set by the Government for solar power generation for the year 2021-22 is 150 MW.
“The target set by the Government for solar power generation for the year 2021-22 is 150 MW; The total solar power generated in the State of Goa till March 2021is 17.1092 Mus,” said Cabral.
He further said that The total amount spent on subsidy for solar power generation till 31st of March 2021 is Rs. 1,43,60,580/-.
Cabral said that as per the directives of JERC, quarterly compliance report of RPO is being submitted to JERC from FY 20-21.
“The State Government of Goa has decided to set up a floating solar power plant on four dams in the state: Selaulim, Amthanem, Anjunem and Chapoli dams,” said Cabral.
He also said that the Government had invited expression of interest (EoI) to select solar power developers to set up a grid-connected floating solar power plant at these sites.
