CANACONA: Stating every Hindu should take the initiative for Conservation and protection of Cows, Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar said, otherwise our destruction is certain.
Tawadkar was speaking at the Go-Premi Snehamela organised by Kamdhenu Gaurakhsha Saunstha opening of Gaushala in memory of Smt. Rukminibai Shivram Desai at Mone-Khotigao in Canaocna on Tuesday.
Speaking further Tawadkar said, ‘There should be a cow temple in the Gaushala, where spiritual tourism can be promoted. Everyone thinks that Gau-seva should be done, so every hindu should take the initiative to protect Cows. Nothing is impossible if you have the determination to work. A temple should be built in the Goshala, through which the spiritual power will rise, thereby creating spiritual tourism. Social motivation is the need of the hour for self-motivated individuals. Let us make our strength and be ready to develop the village through it. If ideological similarity comes together, our strength can increase.
The then Chief Minister Laxmikant Parsekar and myself when I was the Minister of Animal Husbandry had prepared a plan/scheme for Gaushala. Today, I am happy to see that this Gaushala has benefited from that scheme.
On this occasion, Mayor of Kankon Municipality Ramakant Naik Gawkar, Sarpanch of Khotigaon Anandu Desai, Minister of Vishwa Hindu Parishad Goa Province Mohan Amshekar, President of the organization Babu Komarpant, Retired Director of Animal Husbandry Department Dr. Santosh Desai, Chandrakant Desai and Kiran Desai who had given the land for the Goshala were present.
Speaking further, Tawadkar regretted that even with the government help, cattles are not properly maintained.
Raking up his much talked about Shram-Dham concept, Tawadkar said, “Let anyone criticize the concept of ‘Shramdham’. But there is a resolution to prepare one thousand representatives and build one thousand houses all over Goa till June. Anyone will give financial help for that, and we do all this on the strength of the workers’.
Tawadkar went on to state that if the management of the Gaushala in Mane (Khotigao) wants to do labor service near the Gaushala under the concept of Shramdham, then Shram-dham volunteers will also do labor service there.
Tawadkar spoke about a plan to open a dairy on 5 lakh square meters of land in the next few days and also start a Veterinary college. ‘Today silver, gold palanquins and kalas are being donated to the temples. Donations should be used for social work.
Speaking as the guest Speaker, Vishwa Hindu Parishad Minister(Goa) Mohan Amshekar said that Jersey Cows and Hasten cows contain the seeds of Pigs and their milk is harmful. Amshekar also expressed his belief that this Gaushala at Mane should become the number one cow-school in Goa, and stated that since the vegetables and fruits available in the market today are prepared using chemical substances, there is a risk of cancer and many diseases are eliminated by Cow Dung and Cow Urine.
CMC Chairperson Ramakant Naikgaunkar stating more accidents occur at night due to stray cattle, now that there is an arrangement to keep stray cattle in this Gaushala, the stray cattle menace will be controlled.
Secretary of the Organization Jiteendra Amshekar stating people who were sending cattle to the slaughter house by filling the Carts requested them to bring those cattles to the Gaushala. He also informed about the activities to be done in Goshala.
